Welcome to Sydney!
We’re looking forward to hosting you for the Australasian Transport Research Forum (ATRF) 2026 at UTS.
To help you get your bearings around the city, we’ve put together a local Sydney CBD Guide with some of our favourite spots around the area. Whether you’re chasing a proper morning coffee, a quick bite between sessions, or a spot to catch up with colleagues after the final presentations, there’s plenty to check out nearby.
Here is a quick look at what’s around the conference precinct:
-
- Coffee & Breakfast: If you want to sample Sydney’s specialty coffee scene, you can head up the road to spots like Single O Surry Hills or Paramount Coffee Project, or grab a quick brew closer to the city centre at Gumption or Batch Espresso.
- Eats: For a good lunch or casual dinner, try the street-food lanes at Spice Alley right near campus, or wander down to Darling Quarter, Cockle Bay Wharf, and Barangaroo along the water.
- Bars & Drinks: To unwind and network after a full day of sessions, you can grab a local craft beer at Batch Brewing Company, head into the city for a cocktail at Eau De Vie, or head down to the harbour to catch the view from Opera Bar.
